List of Animals

Side-blotched Lizard- we saw this lizard on a rock in the canyon. This lizard is given this name because of it has a blotch behind its front legs

Allgheny Mound Ants- we discovered these ants under neath a rock close to wear we ate lunch

Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly- we saw this butterfly numerous times on our trail in the trees

List of Plants

Cactus- we saw a cactus twice, once inside the canyon itself, and once when we saw a large amount of it on the trail

Red Willow- we saw red willow when we ate lunch

White Sage- we saw white sage when we spotted a butterfly on top of it

Poison oak- we saw poison oak at the begining of the trip from our teachers

Cliff Aster- we saw this on the left side of our trail about 100 yards into the trees

Horseweed- we saw this in the middle of the canyon itself

Mugwort- we saw this about 25 yards into the trees

Description

Our site was on the other side of the canyon where we were dropped off about a half a mile into the trees. The main plants we saw were Mountain Mahogany, cactus, white sage, and red willow. They were the main plants that made up our trail. We did not see many animals but we did see Allghenny Mound ants, a lizard, and a butterfly.

pictures

This picture shows the cacti that starts at the top of this hill and reaches the bottom

This picture shows the bottom of a rock with green stuff under it, which is odd because there was no grass anywhere near it
It may be tough to see but there are Allgheny Mound ants running all over this rock
This is a very strange image of what seems to be either a broken tree trunk or a large broken branch that is launched into the side of a hill

Observation (Nino)

Today it is 75 degrees Fahrenheit in a clear sky sunny day at 11:00

11:05 we spot poison oak
11:15 we come across gopher  holes and a lizard runs by us
11:32 we find a large amount of cacti that grows over a hill
11:47 we find a strange rock with green stuff at the bottom of it
12:01  I tip a rock over and find a large amount of ants

At the end of the day it is 79 degrees Fahrenheit and it is still clear skies with the sun out.
